The Stony Brook Seawolves DII squad continued their hot streak in Lemoyne, PA this weekend. Following a 4-0 homestand in early November, the Seawolves travelled 5 hours to Lemoyne to take on the best DII had to offer from Central Pennsylvania. The opening game of the weekend had the Seawolves face-off aginst the Millersville Marauders, the first time both clubs would meet in ECRHA play. In what would prove to be a gritty match-up, the 'Wolves and the Marauders would play to a 3-3 tie, with goaltender Craig Brodmerkel stopping a dangerous 2-on-1 with :07 seconds left on the clock.
Following the standoff with Millersville Stony Brook would play their former conference rivals from the 2005-2006 season, the Duquesne Roller Dukes. The contest would prove to be lopsided, as Stony Brook would jump to a 5-0 lead in the first period and eventually roll over Duquesne 12-2.
Sunday morning would see the Seawolves play the Shippensburg Raiders. Last season, Shippensburg blasted the expansion Seawolves 11-2, but this year results would be different. Stony Brook would have their revenge on the Raiders, spreading out the scoring and beating Shippensburg 9-4. This would have the Seawolves heading into their last game of the weekend 2-0-1, being tied with Drexel for third place in Division II.
Stony Brook's last opponent in Lemoyne would be a Division I team, the Rochester IT Tigers, in a cross-division match-up. The Seawolves would struggle out of the gate, eventually being down 5-1 to RIT. In a similar fashion to the second meeting between SBU and Vermont, the Seawolves would storm back, eventually forcing a tie.
Stony Brook finishes the Fall 2006 semester with a record of 7-2-3, much improved over last season. The Seawolves will continue to practice through the winter in anticipation for a strong finish to the 2006-2007 season, regionals, and a push for nationals.

Weekend Highlights:

-Rob Lamb and Mike Pfeifer would make their debuts for the DII squad this weekend. Lamb would tally 2 key goals for the team in both ties.

-The Seawolves returned to second place overall in Division II, holding close point leads over Drexel and West Chester.

-Entering the weekend, SBU was ranked #10 nationally, the first time the club would break into the top 10 of the NCRHA.
