Ballwin, MO – After a long layoff, the Great Plains Colligate Inline Hockey League (GPCIHL) was back in action this past weekend in the St. Louis area. In addition to the 20 teams from the Great Plains region, the undefeated Southwest Colligate Hockey League (SCHL) division-2 leaders Arkansas made the trip to St. Peters and Ballwin, MO for some collegiate action. Arkansas (D2) received their first two losses of the season against division-1 powerhouses Bethel and Lindenwood and finished the weekend with a 2-2 record. The Razorbacks two victories came against Kansas State (D2) 11-4 and Saint Louis (D2) 7-6 in overtime.
In Great Plains division-1 action, the Bethel Wildcats (3-0) and Lindenwood Lions (2-0) were undefeated this past weekend. Two of Bethel’s victories came against Missouri State (D1) and the other came against Arkansas (D2) by the score of 5-1. The Wildcats outscored their opponents 28-4 in their three dominant performances. Lindenwood also had two dominant victories over Arkansas (D2) 10-2 and UMSL (D1) 11-3. The UMSL Tritons had a solid weekend going 2-1 with victories over Mizzou (D1) and Lindenwood Gold (D3).
The top three teams in division-3 all had solid weekends. Bethel’s losses came against both of Lindenwood’s division-3 teams. Though both losses were very respectable, the Lindenwood teams seem to be distancing themselves from the pack in the Great Plains division-3 standings. The Bethel Wildcats two victories were in dominate fashion against Kansas State (D2) 12-4 and Washington-STL (D2) 13-4. The Lindenwood Black (D3) Lions only had one game this past weekend and that was against Bethel (D3). The Lions evened the season series against the Wildcats with a 6-2 victory. Lindenwood Gold (D3) tallied a couple victories against Bethel (D3) and Missouri State (D1). The Gold Lions only loss came against UMSL (D1) in a very close 4-3 contest.
St. Charles Community College (JC) went 3-0 this past weekend, with victories over Illinois State (D2), Missouri State (D1), and Washington-STL (D2). The Cougars outscored their opponents 24-11.
