GPCIHL end of season games and Regional Championships this weekend



This 2013-14 Great Plains Hockey season has been the oddest one to date.  .  UMSL having to shut it down after the first semester.  Lindenwood University D1 receives the auto-bid (regional champions) to NCRHA Nationals in Ashton PA April 9th-14th 2014.


Division II has been wild ride if you have been following these teams all season.  Missouri State has received the #1 seed going into Regional weekend.  St. Louis University #2 seed and Kansas State Wildcats #3 seed have been battling the 2nd and 3rd place spots all season long.  Mizzou #4 and Washington University #5 will face off in the first round of playoffs.  Illinois State University has had a rough season especially after missing the last Great Plains #5 weekends due to a winter storm.  ISU will be making up the rest of their season this weekend.  ISU will play SLU in first round of the playoffs.  They played each other once during the reg. season and SLU won 8-7.   Missouri Science and Technology had a rough first semester and found their legs in the second half of the season.  MO S & T #6 seed will play K State #3 seed in the first round.  They played each other once during the season and the Kansas St won 10-2 in Manhattan Kansas at Kansas State new rink on campus. 


All playoff game wins are worth 3 points, compared to 2 points during the regular season.

Each divisional Regional Champions receives an auto-bid to Nationals in Ashton, Pa.


The JUCO division has been all St. Charles Community College beating STL C.C. all 3 games they have played this season, but St. Louis Community College has been hanging in there with a 7-10 record.


The B division has been Lindenwood University Gold for the second year in a row, they have played a D1 schedule..  There 4 losses have come from 2 d1 schools from the west coast, Kansas State and S.C.C.C.
